Hello! My office currently bills out for injections of an antibiotic, decadron (steroid) and ibuprofen (all given in an IV) during wisdom teeth surgery. My OMS sedates the patients and gives them these medications as a preventative measure for post op care. I am continuously having issues with insurance wanting a quadrant and/ or tooth number for D9612 or asking for the NDC for the D9610. My question is which codes are correct? Can I use D9612 for the IV antibiotic, D9613 for Decadron IV injection and D9610 for the ibuprofen injection. Any help is appreciated! I want to code these correctly but my coding books aren't super clear.. thank you!
