Hi Eastland Dental Center!

Great question! What most of our clients prefer to do for secondary claims in DW is:

- open/edit the claim in DW. Change the medical insurance company information at the top to the secondary insurer, using the contacts list
- add any payments to the claim as needed from the primary insurer in field 29 (you will need to send along a copy of the EOB from the primary insurer with this claim as well)
- Swap the insurance ID/policy information as needed between field 9, and fields 1 & 11
- In field 19, enter the words: SECONDARY CLAIM
- print & send, or submit electronically if you do electronic claims!
- it is a good idea to leave a "note" in the notes area at the top middle of the claim form, just indicating the claim was changed to a secondary claim and submitted.

Hope this helps!

Hello,

I was trying to find some guidance on the easiest way to print and submit a secondary claim in DentalWriter. Primary insurance has paid and I was trying to generate a new claim form to submit to the secondary insurance.

Thank you.
