We have a young man, age 16 who has anodontia, 10 congenitally missing teeth. We would like to do implants and crowns to stabilize the bone and provide better chewing surface for him. I'm hopeful that his medical insurance will help with the surgical placement of the implants but does medical usually pay anything on the crowns?

Great question. Coverage for dental services that are medical in nature will very from insurer to insurer. If you'd like to let me know the insurer's name, I am happy to provide you a link to the medical policy that outline the guidelines for a more direct answer!

He has Tricare North Health Net Federal Services. This is my first medical pre auth after attending a recent seminar in DC. I'm just not sure whether to bundle phases of procedures, itemized individual implant/crowns. Just don't know what the proper submission would be
