I need help converting a Dental Code......D7285: Incisional biopsy of oral tissue-hard (bone tooth)........to a CPT code for an insurance claim.

Any help would be miuch appreciated. Thanks!

Hi paulduman!

D7285 - incisional biopsy of oral tissue-hard (bone, tooth)
can be crosscoded to:
20240 - Biopsy, bone, excisional; superficial

D7450 - removal of benign odontogenic cyst or tumor - lesion diameter up to 1.25 cm
can be crosscoded to:
41825 - Excision of lesion or tumor (except listed above), dentoalveolar structures; without repair


D7953 - bone replacement graft for ridge preservation - per site
Can be cross coded to:
21210 - Graft, bone; nasal, maxillary or malar areas (includes obtaining graft)
21215 - Graft, bone; mandible (includes obtaining graft)
**use modifier -52 for reduced services when bone is not obtained from patient


D4265
- biologic materials to aid in soft and osseous tissue regeneration
Can be cross coded to:
99070 - Supplies and materials (except spectacles), provided by the physician or other qualified health care professional over and above those usually included with the office visit or other services rendered (list drugs, trays, supplies, or materials provided)
