Please someone help me.

I need a help to translate D7210 to medical code.

I checked with medical and dental insurance, but failed to get a help.

Thank you for your help in advance.

Hi Steve!

D7210 - surgical removal of erupted tooth requiring removal of bone and/or sectioning of tooth, and including elevation of mucoperiosteal flap if indicated

The code listed above does not have a direct crosscode we are aware of, so you can either bill the "D" code on the medical claim (many insurers these days will process "D" codes when they are medically necessary services), or you can try the CPT code below and include a narrative report describing the procedure:
41899 - Unlisted procedure, dentoalveolar structures

Hope this helps, have a great day!

Hi

D7241 - Removal of impacted tooth - completely bony, with unusual surgical complications

As for the CPT code for extractions, there is actually not direct crosscodes we are aware of, so you can either bill the "D" code on the medical claim (many insurers these days will process "D" codes when they are medically necessary services), or you can use the CPT code below and include a narrative report describing the procedure:
41899 - Unlisted procedure, dentoalveolar structures

You will generally bill 1 unit 41899, or can bill 1 unit per extraction if using the "D" code. It can be helpful to use the "JP" qualifier as well, in the supplemental information (the red shaded line above the white line that is usually left blank in field 24j of the claim form), you can enter the “JP” qualifier to indicate the tooth numbers for the extractions: for example, if you extracted tooth 6, 7, & 8, it would look like this:
JP6 7 8

There is not a standard modifier to use, although if there are special circumstances you may.

Hope this helps!
