Hi Guest!

D7230
- Removal of impacted tooth - partially bony

As for the CPT code for extractions, there is actually not a direct crosscode, so you can either bill the "D" code on the medical claim (many insurers these days will process "D" codes when they are medically necessary services), or you can use the CPT code below and include a narrative report describing the procedure:
41899 - Unlisted procedure, dentoalveolar structures.

As for the cyst removal, here are some coding options for you:

21030 - Excision of benign tumor or cyst of maxilla or zygoma by enucleation and curettage
21040 - Excision of benign tumor or cyst of mandible, by enucleation and curettage

As for the ICD code, here are some coding options for you:

K09.0 - Developmental odontogenic cysts
K09.1 - Developmental (nonodontogenic) cysts of oral region
K09.8 - Other cysts of oral region, not elsewhere classified
K04.8 - Radicular cyst

Hope this helps!

Wondering if a patient is having #18 (D7230) extracted with a small cyst removal that was caused by the tooth. How can you bill for this?
