This course is recommended for any dentist that has started treating sleep apnea with oral appliance therapy and is serious about becoming a well-rounded expert in the field of sleep medicine in order to provide the best possible care for their patients. Upon completion, graduates will receive 16 CE Credits.
Learning Objectives:
- Discuss basic sleep physiology and neuro-anatomic mechanisms that regulate the sleep-wake cycle.
- Identify patients who present with independent or co-morbid sleep disorders.
- Describe the spectrum of in lab and home sleep tests that can be used to diagnose sleep disorders.
- Develop strategies to minimize adverse effects from oral appliance therapy
- Communicate & build relationships with local physicians and sleep specialists.
- How billing medical insurance can gain you more physician referrals.
- Examining case studies and attendee cases.
